Motor Home & Caravan Telescopic Cupboard Keepers

Anyone who's travelled any distance in a motor home or with a caravan in tow, will already know of the dangers of wandering cupboard contents! It could be the irritating clean up of the pan cupboard scattered across the floor when you arrive – or an errant bean can flying at you when you open the food cupboard next!

The shelves in Waki, like most campers or boats, do all have a lip on them to help stop things, but we found we still needed something better. One moment of sudden braking or a roundabout would give things enough momentum to clear the lip, and we didn't want another smashed jar of pickles to clean up that's for sure! :(

After hours of searching caravan shops and the internet for the right wording, I finally happened upon a set of telescopic ‘keeper poles’ on e-bay which were perfect for the job!

They twist to extend and have a rubber cap on either end to get a good grip on the walls, much like a temporary curtain rail. There are several sizing and colour options and, even though the smaller ones would fit our food cupboard, I bought two of the larger sets as they also fit across the width of our bathroom for drying our clothes. It’s great when we find an item that can do two or more jobs! They stop the shelf contents from gaining any momentum to start with so can hold back a surprising weight of tins.
