Ecobud Gentoo Jug Water Filter

I'm very fussy about the taste and quality of my water, and regular readers may know how I feel about consuming chemicals needlessly. In order to ensure that our drinking water is free of bacteria it is treated with Chlorine, and controversially in some areas 'supplemented' with Fluoride, as well as picking up other contaminants from pipes on the way to our glass.

I've looked many times for a filter that can remove fluoride to no avail, but whilst shopping for a standard Brita filter I came across this instead. Not only does it remove fluoride, but also the Chlorine and other heavy metal contaminants commonly present in our drinking water. It even manages to increase the alkalinity of the water which is great help to everyone trying to eat a healthier more alkaline diet. The company Ecobud also sell filters designed to connect to your shower so is something else we're considering installing to the bathroom fittings in Waki as well.

The initial price of the jug seemed quite steep at first, but it does come complete with the first cartridge, and the filter cartridges themselves are comparable to other brands in price and does a much better job. Like other filters we've had in the past, you do have to wait until all of the water has passed through to the jug section before pouring else it trickles out from the top section when you tip it over but like I said that seems to be a problem they all have. We have the white one, and so far I've found it very easy to fill up and keep clean.

So in all this brilliant filter delivers clean, fresh tasting, healthy water straight to your own kitchen - you just can't beat the refreshment of a nice glass of truly pure filtered water like this. It's much easier to drink my recommended amount of water when it tastes this good!
