Compact Fire Extinguisher

Fires can happen and when they do they happen fast! We therefore figured it would was important to have a fire extinguisher or two on board, and somewhere to hand as it's no good packed away in the boot or in a cupboard when you really need one!

There are many vehicle and household fire extinguishers available online and I highly recommend buying yourself a suitable one - for your house too. They really do save lives and can be the difference of a happy ending for you and your family.

We have two of these compact vehicle fire extinguishers on board, one in the cab glove box and the other on the wall next to the door so they're always accessible. They're less than a foot long and only a couple of inches in diameter so are hardly noticeable but a comforting presence. They are 600g capacity so for their size you can only reasonably expect them to give 5 or 6 seconds of discharge time.

We bought ours, along with the emergency foil blankets that now line our wall insulation throughout the motor home, from the survival and safety supply company EVAQ8 who sell a lot of other great products like car winter survival kits and food ration boxes. I can't fault their service and prompt deliveries.

Alternatively see below for a like model available on Amazon, if you're looking for a product to get you over their add-on item threshold then why not make it something that could save your life one day?

We live neither on or off-grid, rather somewhere in between, and are not the first and I dare say not the last to choose this way of life... read more>>
